It started with a book coming to Urkundo. Last year Pam, a grandmother and former teacher sent books to Rwanda signed by her two grandchildren Alex and Lily and enclosed a photo of them. Sarah, a 5 year old at Urukundo said she wanted to send a book to them.
This year, not only did Alex and Lily write letters and enclose a photo, but 12 others became a pen pal. Kids at the Urukundo Home were so excited to have their special time to read their letter and write back. There were many questions to each other. I'll be bringing the letters and pictures home to pass along to their new friends!!
Nelly and Kendall - Kendall made cards in scouts for new babies. Nelly thought it would be fun to imitate Kendall with the card and basket. I even have a video to share of Nelly walking down stairs and in the yard carrying the basket on her head.
Sarah and Lily - Lily has stuffed bunnies so Sarah would like to see a picture of them. Sarah shared there are mountains and banana and avocado trees in Rwanda.
Agide and Thomas - Agide told Thomas there are no lions in Rwanda. He wants to know what Thomas likes to eat and said he likes bananas, papaya and potatoes.
