I love when the gift of giving travels the world and that is exactly what the knitters at my church St. Paul's United Methodist Church are doing. They knit for so many and are truly the hands serving others.
Here are photos of the knitting group and Mama Arlene with one of their beautiful green prayer shawls. Others are wrapped around several if the staff as a thank you for all they do at Urukundo. We brought 4 this time. We can only fit inns many at a time. Each prayer shawls has a tag saying, "As you wrap this shawl around you, it is our prayer you may feel the grace and peace if God's ever-present love."
Others in that group also make baby blankets. One plaid one went from her hands to be placed with baby Jacob an abandoned baby that is now 2 months old.
And donated yarn is being used to make scarfs. Betty one of the mamas is outside knitting, but many of the staff have all learned. I'll be looking for more donated yarn as they have busy hands making things for others too.
Love travels the world and you are all a part of this ministry. I am humbled that I can share YOUR gifts with the people of Rwanda. You are here with me in spirit!
