Sharing Art

So many hands have been and continue to touch the lives of children and adults in Rwanda. One company, Dick Blick Art Materials, located in Illinois, provided art supplies for several classrooms. Blick has been a long-time supporter and advocate for the arts, and continues to be involved in many national initiatives to support arts and offset budget constrictions in schools and communities. www.dickblick.com

Linda Schimmel, an artist on our team, used materials for teaching art to women in English as a Second Language classes. For some of the women it had been the first time they were given paper and pastels to draw with. How wonderful to see them go from pastels-in-hand hesitation to smiling creativity!

Other donated materials were used in preschool classrooms for their classroom to classroom partnership with third grade classes at Mt. Nittany Elementary School in Pennsylvania. Button art was made on durable paper/boards that would travel back to the US.

Thank you Dick Blick Art for your donation to open the world of art to those across the world.
