There is an African story called Old Mikimba Had a Farm, which is a unique version of the classic nursery song, "Old MacDonald." It introduces children to a menagerie of African animals and their sounds. But the original Old MacDonald still works for Urukundo Farm as we have pigs, cows and chickens. And do we ever have pigs!
Jean De Dieu, the cowboy in charge of the pigs, walked me through the the two pigsties and introduced me to all the pigs. It included 8 sows, 8 pigs that are 8 months , 2 that are 4 months and 43 that are 3 months. All are sold for income to support the farm and children's home.
